Get High on Nature in Costa Rica
If there is something we love about Costa Rica, itis the possibility of going from the most pristine beach to the lushest rainforest in less than ten minutes and even stopping to grab a healthy smoothie on the way. That said, if you are planning to visit us in Bejuco you should know there is a place only half an hour away, were you can fulfill your most adventurous desires and get high on nature, literally: start with a canopy tour, followed by ATV or buggy adventure and end it up on a horseback riding visit to the waterfalls, all the while completely respecting the environment. In this 80-acre rainforest tour center, you will meet and greet the most wonderful team of warm locals. With their huge smiles and impeccable manners, they will show you how to partake in multiple adventures in a safe way and will keep you entertained all the way so you never feel nervous about what you are about to do (trust me, I was terrified and they managed to calm me down like a champ).
And so it begins… The adventure starts on a ride aboard the coolest tractor all the way up to the top of the mountain to start then descending to the bottom via a series of zip lines, including 12 platforms and 10 cables with a total cable distance of 3.5 kilometers! Once you are done flying like a bird and enjoying the cool ocean breeze in your face blowing from the nearby Herradura Bay, the team will be waiting for you with fresh water and tropical fruit. A short break and you are ready for the next adrenaline rush: your ATV or buggy adventure! A short test ride on a private track and you will be ready to hit the jungle trails, following rivers and dirt paths for more than 2 hours. You will end up joyful and covered in mud but don’t worry, after a short 5 minute hike in the forest, you will then arrive at your own private waterfalls and you will have time to swim, enjoy nature, and clean yourself off. If you are not a fan of ATVs, you can also get to the waterfalls after a peaceful horseback ride that will take you along the enormous rainforest and give you the opportunity to spot all kinds of wildlife, from toucans to macaws and monkeys. |
